These are generally very good and reliable little receivers. it is not the first time that i have bought this model of pocket radio. the receive sensitivity always seems to be quite adequate and out of all the times i have purchased these only one was flawed, and yes i have purchased so many of these w-918 receivers that i don't care to add up just how many it actually was ( but it is more than 20 so far ). i often use one of these to listen to shortwave broadcasts while sitting outside just using the built-in antenna while holding the radio. adding 2xaa batteries strangely seems to improve the shortwave reception regardless of weather you are actually running the radio on those batteries or not. 🤔 perhaps better groundplane or something. put the tiny red switch on the side in the up position to operate it on the built-in recharhable battery. these make great gifts and are an excellent backup radios in the event of having no grid ( mains ) power.

Super radio receiver, this is the third one I've ordered for my collection, I also want a black one. 😁 It runs on a built-in battery and you can also use batteries, which is a huge plus. 😁 The reception is excellent, even very good on AM despite strong interference; it receives well. one of my favorite radio stations. I recommend it!

Another great color themed gift idea 💡 For someone who needs a backup radio or just wants to enjoy a nice little dual powered multi-band radio. The colors are vibrant and the sound is decent enough to tell someone that you are thinking about them. Reception is great in fringe areas as you can unusually find something to listen to on any of the four bands and the audio although monaural, is phenomenal. A joy to listen and tune around while in off grid areas. ( just a note: if you are concerned about seeing where the pointer position of the tuning dial is in anything other than bright sunlight get any coulor other than orange because the red pointer on orange backdrop doesn't contrast as well in most dim light conditions 😉 ).

W-918 portable rohs pocket radio with four bands and built in led flashlight 📻 🔦 Not to be confused with the prunus j-211 ( even though it is the very same thing lol ) either way these are probably one of the best little dual power am/fm/sw pocket radios to have as a backup radio receiver or to take out into the wilderness especially for those who have solar charging capabilities. It would be nice if they came up with a water proof version of this same thing. But unfortunately that's not the case 😕 Aside from that these radios really perform well and you can add 2x aa cells which is a good idea if you have good batteries that don't leak. These are a very low drain device that delivers good sensitivity and sound from it's own built in swivel antenna and your body or a metal or grounded surface to sit it on. 😉 Even without all that it still works well. There is however a little bit of am break-in that can occur on the lower sw band if you are in urban areas with big am power stations.

Switch up for internal recharhable battery, down for alkaline or lead-acid aa's. Volume and tuning. Red power indicator does eluminate some of the surrounding red plastic but that's all fine by me lol 😆 Speaker has a bit of a powerful sound to it revealing some bass response which is better than many of the other radios within it price range. Fm/am/sw1/sw2 reception. Swivel antenna. Headphone jack, led flashlight ( does not flash ) but is bright enough to see while walking in the dark.
